The Church of St. George was built in 1833 – 1835.
It is the symbol of the city. The church is situated higher in the center of the city and is visible from almost all of its points. The temple has a clock at its highest point, which still counts the time in Belitsa and symbolizes the spirit of religious tolerance inherent in this mountain town. A number of chapels are located around the city.
