Manoil’s hole is a cave near the village of Ribnovo, Garmen municipality.
It is one of the most valuable speleological complexes in the country due to its rich cave formations and its importance for the protection of the world-wide protected species of bats. It is 2175 meters long (-115 m de-leveled) and is located at 1107 meters above sea level. It is the longest cave in the Dabrashki part of the Western Rhodopes. Located on the lower slopes of Ribnovo gully.
The cave is two-storied, with floors branching 300 meters from the entrance. On the bottom / water / floor of the cave the waters of Ribnovo gully run. It is a complex of corridors, small halls, waterfalls and thresholds. The dry upper floor begins with the Bats Gallery and interesting lakes with a depth of up to 1.5 m follow along its length. The average annual temperature in the cave is 8.7 ° C. Manoil’s hole is inhabited by bats and difficult to penetrate in.
