ECO-PATH “FLYING FLOWERS” starts from “Tsarski Kladenets” locality, follows a black truck road through a nice beech forest and goes to the Dancing Bears Rehabilitation Center.
- Length: 18.3km
- Duration: 6h. and 35min.
Most of the route passes through open spaces, covered with beautiful plants over which the flowers of nature fly – the butterflies. Early summer, some rare and endemic butterflies can be seen on the meadows full of blooming flowers. The butterfly is a symbol of freedom, imagination, and of the beauty of nature. In the Bulgarian folk tradition is preserved the ritual “butterfly” aiming at inducing rain.
The life of the butterfly goes through four phases: egg, larva or caterpillar, pupa and adult butterfly.
The pairing is very beautiful – late spring “paired” butterflies fly in sync. These are interesting processes that you can witness in the course of the eco-path “Flying Flowers” in the municipality of Belitsa.
