The settlement is located on the junction between the hilly and mountainous southwestern part of the Osogovo Mountains.
The place is rich in natural resources. Well-known natural sources, which from the local population are treated as medicinal, are “Treshtena voda (Treshtena water)”, which originates from a rock in the place called Treshtenik, then the mentioned “Black water” (smell and taste of Coca-Cola) and also the mentioned water in the monastery of St. Pantelejmon.
Pantelej has its centuries-old tradition, which is partially nurtured to this day. The most celebrated feast is St. Panteleјmon on August 9, and тхе “village glory day” is on Ilinden.
