The spring is located on the right side of the road between the villages of Banya and Eleshnitsa, in the area of St. Varvara.
Next to it is a massive rope bridge over the river with thick steel ropes and nets instead of rails. On the other bank, about twenty yards from the river, lies the mineral spring that springs from a narrow crack in the monolithic and rugged rock. It flows from a few places, the healing mineral water flows, and a small chapel rises above it.
The temperature of the water in the stone pool is at a temperature of 58 degrees. It is said that the Christian martyr from the 3rd century Varvara was born in Eleshnitsa, which in ancient times was called Ilipol. It is supposed that near the healing spring there was a pagan sanctuary, which later grew into a Christian audience.
