RESORT AREA “BODROST”

The Bodrost Resort is located in the southwestern part of the Rila Mountain in the Kartala area, 27 km from Blagoevgrad.

Located among vast meadows and hills with natural mixed coniferous and deciduous forests. There are numerous small waterfalls and pools inhabited by Balkan trout along Blagoevgrad Bistrica river flowing through the area. The resort offers very good conditions for tourism and recreation in all seasons.

For the fans of skiing there are ski slopes with a total length of 4 km and 750 m, unleveled of 900 m with a cabin lift having the length of 3000 m and the capacity of 1400 people per hour, ski lift “Pomagalski” with a capacity of 900 people per hour and the length of 1500 m, ski lift for beginners (training) with the capacity of 500 people per hour and a length of 300m.

The cabin lift operates all year round all weekdays except for Monday when equipment prophylaxis is made.

The resort has an Interpretive Educational Center “Ecolend” for training children in nature. The place is starting point for short trips on eco-trails and well-marked tourist routes in Southwest Rila. Interesting are:

• The Reserve “Parangalitsa”, starting with “Kartalska Polyana” and
• Attraction for equestrian and bicycle tourism from Bodrost Resort through Macedonia hut to Semkovo Resort Complex.
