“The Blue Pool” is one of the most attractive natural landmarks along the Kanina River.
It is located at 1 hour walking distance, at the west from Kovachevitsa on a marked eco-path.
“The Blue Pool” is located in a picturesque area of dense pine forest and inaccessible cliffs protruding over both banks of the deep gorge of the River Kanina. The magnificent natural architecture cut into the granite and gneiss rocks huge stone pots filled with thundering falling water. Reflections of magnificent cliffs, forests and sky on the crystal mountain water color it in emerald-green color that gives the name of the place – the “Blue Pool”. The area is a natural mountain phenomenon with invaluable aesthetic and ecological value. In the clean waters, high alpine trout is bred, and medicine herbs are growing in the vicinity – marjoram, St. John’s wort, wild strawberries and others.
