The site is located on the first hill above the cemetery in the village of Morodvis, a 30-minute walk from the archaeological site of Morodvis.
In 1957, on the initiative of the villagers and with their funds, the construction of the monastery began.
Much later, in 1983, the monastery was consecrated by the then competent “diocesan bishop” (archbishop).
The Church “St. Simeon Stolpnik” – the main monastery church, which was built and consecrated in 1968 by the then Metropolitan Naum of Zletovo-Strumica, and in 2002 the church was restored; The building of the monastery consists of stones made of mud and baked brick, the roof is made of beams and is covered with a roll of branches. In 2001-2002, the monastery was reconstructed with the blessing of Metropolitan Agathangel. The monastery, dedicated in honor and memory of the great Simeon Stolpnik, is located in the lower part of Plachkovitsa mountain, near the village of Morodvis. Due to the lack of written documents, the information presented in connection with the construction and consecration of the monastery is from the statements of some of the older residents of the village of Morodivis. According to their statements, there was a monastery dedicated to St. John (it is not known whether he was a Baptist or a theologian), where the local population found shelter during the Second World War. Later, the local population gathers on August 2 for the feast dedicated to St. Elijah.
The object is of national importance. The visit time is 20 minutes, with the sightseeing. The starting point is the courtyard of the monastery. If it is open, one can go inside, light a candle, etc.
