The Church “St. Dimitar” is of great historical and architectural value.
It was built in 1843 – 1844 by unknown masters. The architectural aspect is of a large three-nave basilica. A quarter of century later, it was rebuilt and a female ward was added. In 1941 the dome was rebuilt and a clock bell tower was added to the temple.
The church was painted in 1883-1885 by Mino and his sons Marko and Theophil Minovi heirs of the great Minovi genre, who also left their own portraits. Chronicle.
Subject of interest are the numerous scenes and images of bible statements, of secular life and historical events painted by them in a very realistic style. Among the religious scenes are included episodes of Bulgarian history as the suppression of the Boyars’ rebellion by Boris I. The stage is entitled “Vladimir’s Penalty, Simeon’s Enthronement“, and is the only one of its kind in the country.
The church is declared a cultural monument of regional importance.
