The neighborhood Varosha was formed in the city of Gorna Dzhumaya at the Age of the Renaissance with its center location the church “Introduction Virgin”.
Varosha is the only one Bulgarian neighborhood among all 5 in the city in the first half of the 18th century . On its architectural silhouette and structure Varosha neighborhood does not differ from similar by name neighborhoods in other Bulgarian cities. The buildings built in the early 19th century are often one-store’s with small windows looking at the courtyard. Fashion is spreading to decorate artistically the outsides of the buildings – with paintings – today this kind of decoration can be seen in the so called “Moshtans’House”. Neighborhood Varosha is renovated in the 80s of the 20th century and it keeps its original spirit and style and has become distinct as a cozy and attractive for the tourists place. There are housed the schools of the Arts’Center, the United Childrens’Complex, here are the workshops and ateliers of the Blagoevgrad’s’ artists. Small restaurants are ready to offer rest and tasty food to the tourists.
