PEDESTRIAN / BICYCLE ROUTE “ILIN KAMEN”

The whole route is oriented in the direction west to east-northeast. The total length of the route is 6.15 km in climb with a maximum longitudinal slope of 20% on a very small part of the track. The average maximum longitudinal slope is about 13%. That makes it suitable for recreation of people. The route starts from the city of Delchevo where an informative board is set up and continues to the village of Zvegor.

Passing through the village and the international road for the Republic of Bulgaria, on the right side is the natural rarity “Characteristic geological profile Zvegor” – The phenomenon of this characteristic geological profile is in function and product of regional geological activities, within the frames of the defined geotectonic formations. Namely, according to the regional division of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, the area of ​​Zvegor and the wider surrounding belong to the Serbian – Macedonian mass, whose core is the granite of the Delcev battolite, more precisely the granodiorites on the territory along the border with the Republic of Bulgaria.

These rocks are solid, locally clustered with somewhat more precipitous structure compared to other granite parts. By color they are grayish – yellowish to greyish – greenish, leucocytic to mesocrine. The structure is allotriormal to the hypidiomorphic grain, built of quartz, plagioclass, Calcium feldspar, biotite, rarely muscovite and chlorite, and minor minerals are sphene, apatite and iron oxides.

In the continuation along the road on the right side is the Eco Restaurant Fishpond Vodenica, where the hosts will welcome you in a natural ambient with delicious fresh fish and local specialties and all that produced and done on the spot. On the right side is the monastery complex St. Ilija where you can rest and drink natural cold water. At only fifty meters, the cycling route leads to the left of the regional road and through the thick oak and pine forest brings you to the “Ilin Kamen” site where there is an arranged holiday location, a wonderful panorama of the whole municipality, as well as a location that is visited by numerous tourists and pilgrims.
