A museum about the history of Melnik, created in the mid-twentieth century.
During this period also begin the systemic archaeological research in the city.
A rich collection of artifacts is preserved in the museum. Made by skilled craftsmen and artisans the artifacts found place not only in the homes of the Melnik townspeople, but traded successfully in distant areas.
The exhibition presents findings from the archaeological research, objects of the urban life from the Revival period as well as surrounding villages traditional household products.
The museum is included in the 100 national tourist sites.
