The Center for large predators was created by the Wildlife Society “Balkans”, which works for the protection and restoration of flora and fauna in natural ecosystems, their preservation for future generation and promotion of conservation issues among the general public.
In the center are kept alive wolves and bears in a semi-natural environment. The information in the exhibition halls of the center on two levels is focused on the wolf, the brown bear, the jack and the jackal, the environment they inhabit, their relationship with other species. Special attention is paid to the people’s attitude towards these species and what needs to be done to preserve them in the future. Interactive exhibition materials that invite you to press buttons, open the door to look at the bear’s belly or the wolf’s lair are a great way to learn through fun. The complex has a 40 seats hall, suitable for meetings, projection and practical work with children and groups of visitors.
Vlahi is now the center of various activities to preserve the nature and harmonious coexistence of man with the surrounding environment. In Vlahi, “School for Nature” and “Center for rare breeds” were created – Karakachanska sheep, horse, dog and others.
