The church was built in 1848 and is an architectural building and artistic monument of culture of national importance.
It is a three-nave pseudo-basilica with a large semi-circular apse at the east side and an exterior gallery at the west. In 1893 at its north-west side a 4-storied bell tower and cellar school were built, which together with the church are surrounded by a stone wall and form an original architectural ensemble. The interior of the church has been shaped by various masters over the years. There are no frescoes, but there are some decorative motifs – carvings and paintings on the iconostasis, the ceilings, the arcades, the pulpit and the bishop’s throne.
