The St. George Chapel is located in the area of St. George, 2 km at east, in the highest part above the village of Kovachevitsa.
It was built in 1995 by a master mason from the village of Gorno Dryanovo and the volunteer work of the population of the village of Kovachevitsa. The funds necessary to building the chapel were collected from donors. The murals are painted by artists as a donation to the village. The chapel is about one hour away on a road that passes through colorful meadows and old Roman cobblestone. The view revealed from the chapel is exceptional – centuries-old pine forests and a panorama over the village of Gorno Dryanovo, the village of Garmen and to Pirin mountain in the distance. Near the chapel stands a 10-meter cross – emblematic Christian sign of the area.
