“ELENETS” MONASTERY – KING’S PEAK (KING)

Elenets, known somewhat as Gornotserski and/or just as Tser Monastery, is an Orthodox Christian monastery complex. It is located deep in the Osogovo Mountains, 1000 meters above sea level, and 12 kilometers from Makedonska Kamenica in the picturesque village of Tsera, or in its Gorna Mahala, known as Gorna Tsera. Elenski Monastery dates back to Roman times. On the foundations of the old building, in 1880, the current monastery complex was built, which was destroyed in the past, but today it has been renewed with a large central monastery church dedicated to the shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where every October a large assembly is held and many people spend the night in the monastery, where part of the inventory is more than a century old. The monastery was built next to a rock, on which there was an icon in the hole, in front of which the candles were lit.

More than 10,000 visitors per year. There are several events on the mountain top throughout the year.
